New Orleans native Adele Kelty Merchant joined Acadian House Design and Renovation in 2011. As one of the firm’s lead designers, Merchant spends much of her time scheduling, overseeing job sites, and being the main point of contact for clients. She also contributes to decision-making on designs and selections, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
While working as a commercial designer in Buffalo, New York, Merchant realized that her passion is more on the residential side. After completing a rigorous 8-week kitchen design course at Home Depot, she found her love for fitting the pieces of the kitchen design puzzle together.
Merchant returned to New Orleans and moved to Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina. Through a family connection, she had the opportunity to explore her passion for kitchen design at Acadian House. Space planning and helping clients discover the best fit and function for their space is her favorite aspect of the job.
