DESIGN YOUR DREAM home

Depending on the age of your home, changing needs, or simply a desire for something new; there are a number of reasons for a complete home renovation. This goes beyond a kitchen update or a bathroom upgrade. Everything from redesigning to demolition and everything in between, there is a lot to consider and prepare for during this process.

RENOVATED HOMES IN Baton Rouge

  • What are the important considerations for a whole home remodel?

Begin with having an idea of what you would like.  This vision, along with the guidance of a skilled designer can provide a scope everything that will be included in this project.  Some of this advice will ensure that you don’t opt for a style that may need an update before too long.  Also think of how much of your home will be included.  Will it be every room?  Just the upstairs?  Just downstairs?  Will the exterior be updated as well?  All of these answers will strongly influence your budget, as well as the timeline for your renovation.

  • What is the order of the steps taken in a complete home renovation?

Acadian House Renovation and Design handles each and every step of your renovation.  From design to selection to demo to construction and beyond.  Your renovation begins with designs and selections. Construction will begin with demolition.  This includes everything from removing carpet and flooring to taking down walls.  Rebuilding is the next step.  This will include repositioning and new walls, as well as any new doors, entryways, windows, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, and more.  Once the new structure of your home is in place, the utilities and mechanical components can be put in place.  After this element is in place and up to code, the walls are placed.  Insulation, drywall, and finishing are all done at this time.  Flooring, and any needed sub flooring are then laid.  Any new cabinetry will go in after the floors.  Finally, the appliances are replaced or returned, and any necessary final touches will be performed.

  • What aging-in-place accommodations can be done with a home renovation?

If you’ve been in your home for some time, or are having some challenges from getting older, you need to consider your safety and comfort.  A home renovation is the perfect way to implement aging-in-place devices and designs. There are number of products, components, and universal design strategies that can make your home safer and easier for you and your guests.  From grab bars in the bathroom to curb less showers to wider doorways and more, you can combine updated aesthetics with the principles and best practices from an aging-in-place certified contractor.
