Timing is everything. This is true for everything, from music to sports to any and every type of project. Planning and scheduling are specifically time-sensitive, and these are significant considerations for a
home renovation. Of course, this process takes time. From deciding to renovate to going through the design and selection process to beginning and completing construction, your renovation will need to be mapped out from start to finish. However, just like with any road trip, you’ll need to plan for pit stops and detours. The size and scope of your project, as well as other scheduling conflicts, will also influence the timeframe of your renovation. A good strategy when planning your renovation is to decide when you would need or like it to be completed.
Many people want to have their renovation complete for spring. From Mardi Gras to Easter to warm weather and crawfish boils, spring in south Louisiana is a popular season. What better time to unveil and enjoy your new space? However, in order for spring to be the destination, we’ve got to begin the process in the fall or early winter.
When we begin the
consultation, design, and selection process in October, November, or December, it gives us a head start on the new year. You won’t have to worry about construction going on during the holidays. This timing also accounts for other variables like weather and permit acquisition. Beginning the process in the fourth quarter can also lead to improved efficiency and a streamlined process as supplies, materials, and labor are concerned.
Just like you can’t swim in a new on May 1st, if you don’t start digging until April 30th, you can’t enjoy your new spa-like bathroom, entertain in your new kitchen this spring, or complete your renovation for spring if you don’t begin the process now.
