Acadian House Design + Renovation Celebrates 45 years of Design + Renovation Excellence!

The premier event for the kitchen and bath industry is the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show. KBIS recently wrapped up its 2022 session in Orlando, Florida. The expert staff of designers from Acadian House Design + Renovation were there to see, experience, listen, and learn from the industry's leaders. Here are a few of the many things that stood out and spell out the future of kitchen and bath design and home renovation.
A newer design concept that goes by many names is changing how traditional colors and materials are being updated. Titanium, blackened steel, black stainless, or translucent black is taking over everything from sinks to kitchen hoods to refrigerators and more. This new application offers more matte and muted tones and counteracts the typical "coldness" association of metal finishes.
Kitchen and bathroom countertops can be one of the most eye-catching aspects of a space. They also have to be as functional as they are fashionable. While sleek, smooth, polished stone was once considered the only option, that has evolved with options like a leather finish. Countertop materials are now being designed with an even more rugged finish, adding instant character to a space.
A color scheme that has been growing in popularity recently is expected to continue its surge towards walls, counters, and other items in the coming future. In all of its mossy, muted, emerald, and brilliant tones, Green is becoming a favorite way to brighten up a kitchen. Everything from paint and tile to hardware, appliances, and accessories embraces this bold, expressive hue.
An emphasis on textured metals with a larger scale and more exaggerated styling is growing. This trend goes beyond surfaces; it is also used on hardware, faucets, and other finishes.
Artificial intelligence plays a larger role in almost every aspect of our lives. From digital assistants to our phones, this technology is becoming more streamlined and accessible. Now it is coming to our appliances. From dirt sensing washers and dryers to inventory detecting refrigerators, staying connected and efficient has never been easier.
These are only a few of the new and exciting things that are changing how kitchens, bathrooms, and homes are being designed and built. The expert team of designers at Acadian House has been helping homeowners in the Baton Rouge create the spaces of their dreams for over 40 years.
