We go through a number of interview processes throughout our lives. Whether you’re trying to get into school, get a job, or hire someone for a job; the questions you ask, and answer, play an essential role in the outcomes of these interviews. When it comes to making an investment, while simultaneously inviting someone into your home, there are specific questions that need to be asked. If you are considering a renovation, be sure to get the answers to these questions from any and every prospective contractor.
- Do you have a contractor’s (builder or remodeler) license?
- Do you have worker’s comp?
- Do you have insurance?
- Do your subcontractors have worker’s comp and insurance?
- How long have you been in business?
- Does your work and product come with a warranty?
- Will you put a completion date in writing?
- How do your payment schedules work?
- Where is your office located?
- Do you offer an office number and a cell phone number?
- Do you have references or client referrals?
- When will you order the products for my project?
