The technology and capabilities of every item in our daily lives has grown leaps and bounds over the past decade. From your phone to your watch to your car and beyond, things are smarter, faster, and more connected than ever before. However, sleek dials, LED displays, and WiFi connectivity aren’t limited to what you carry in your pocket or your purse; in fact, these same design elements and functionality can be applied to your kitchen. Appliances and other design elements can completely change the way your kitchen performs and operates. If you are considering a kitchen renovation, these additions can bring your home into the 21st century.

Smart Kitchen Faucets

Picking up where touch faucets left off, smart technology is now available, and increasing in popularity in kitchen sinks. There are a variety of capabilities that smart faucets provide. Voice control and motion sensors are helpful when your hands are full or dirty. Water temperature can be displayed digitally, you can even tell it to fill a container of a certain size and preheat or cool the temperature of the water.

Charging Stations in Kitchens

A constant in our lives today is our devices. Phones, tablets, and a variety of other USB fueled items keep us connected by providing communication, entertainment, and information. As such, convenient charging is a must. You spend a lot of time in your kitchen, and as a result, so do your devices. Outlets and other charging platforms can be cleverly and comfortably integrated into your newer, smarter kitchen. These ports and power sources can be placed in drawers, in customized nooks in a kitchen island - really anywhere that is useful.

Smart Kitchen Lighting

Not only do these devices and platforms make things a little bit easier, they can also save you money. Smart lighting is a prime example of how you can reduce your energy bill. You can now control your lights from your smartphone, through a virtual assistant like Google Home or Amazon Alexa. You can also schedule your lights or certain areas in your kitchen to turn on and off at certain times.

Smart Kitchen Appliances

WiFi connectivity and integration doesn’t stop at lights and sinks. In fact, the two biggest appliances in your kitchen can now be as intuitive and conveniently controlled as your smartphone.
  • Smart Refrigerator – Refrigerators do much more than store food and keep it fresh. Today smart refrigerators are equipped with transparent, touchscreen doors that display its contents without the need to open. This is just one way these refrigerators are more energy efficient. Temperatures can be controlled by what is being kept and in what areas. Interior cameras allow you to see what’s in your refrigerator while you’re at the store. You can also look up recipes on the door and leave digital messages for your family.
  • Smart Oven – Smart ovens vary in their abilities, but they all offer new conveniences that make cooking and managing your kitchen easier than ever. With Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, you can monitor what is cooking from your phone. Barcode readers can adjust the oven’s temperature. Preprogrammed recipes and voice control also make preparing a meal a breeze.
